Description
V-shaped wheels are special types of discs formed by segments of abrasive tape that are used for grinding metals. They are employed in the industry to perform grinding and polishing activities on hard and resistant materials such as metals, alloys, and composites. These wheels are characterized by a V shape with a 15° inclination relative to the axis of the wheel itself, which allows for concentrating the abrasive force on the point of contact between the wheel and the material being worked on.
The V-shaped configuration of the abrasive wheels enables greater efficiency in processing compared to traditional abrasive wheels. This is because the contact pressure between the wheel and the workpiece is concentrated on a smaller area, generating a greater force on the working surface.
Moreover, thanks to their V-shaped structure, they can reach angles and shapes that are difficult to work with conventional abrasive tools. The V shape helps control the processing process, reducing the risk of deformation of the worked material.
V-shaped abrasive wheels are available in different sizes and abrasives, allowing operators to choose the right combination of dimensions and abrasives based on the specific requirements of the processing.
